Photo: when the snow falls, peace generally follows…

Ascot, snow, relaxation, black and white

I did my masters near the town of Ascot (near the famous horse racecourse). One day it snowed on campus, and the giant conifer tree in the fields was grandiose. It was silent and very relaxing. I find the empty bench is inviting us to sit, ponder and wander in our own thoughts, next to a very wise soul… It is important to possess a place you know you have in order to find peace of mind, if only for a moment in this crazy life…

Photo: a full moon in a game reserve in Kenya

At a workshop in Naivasha, next to Nakuru game reserve in central Kenya, we visited a small nature reserve near a lodge. Luckily we spotted a few animals before the sun set, and then we walked through the park at night. It was a beautiful evening with eerie moonshine. Realkly recommend going through that part of Kenya though. Slightly less touristy than the major game reserves in East Africa.

Luckily we spotted a few animals before it got dark, and then we walked through the park at night. It was a beautiful evening with eerie moonshine, almost as nice as seeing the wild (ish) animals. A memorable moment. Really recommend going through that part of Kenya. Slightly less touristy than the major game reserves in East Africa.

Photo: a rainbow over bricks and mortar

In London on Saturday night, a huge double rainbow appeared over the London skyline. It was a beautiful sight and luckily I just had enough battery to take 2 pictures with my camera before it shut down. No pressure then. It appeared in front of perhaps the ugliest building in London, making it look strangely attractive for once in its 40 year history. Finally, and this is what strikes me as odd. Notice the colour of the sky on the left is different to the one on the right. I have no idea why? does someone who is involve in meteorology or physics know why this is? Anyway, this is proof that even ugly London skylines can sometime be quite pretty

Photo: A sunset over Kathmandu in Nepal

Nepal is a glorious country, and one that needs to be visited to be understood. I only stayed a week for work, but the hospitality and generosity from the locals and colleagues was staggering. On one evening, I went up a very famous tower in central Kathmandu and was lucky to see the capital in nice light. Hope this picture pushed you to visit the country!

Photo: humid and blurry sunsets in Sulawesi, Indonesia

Travelling around the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia, we were awaiting our ferry to travel south to Flores, and hitched up in this little coffee place near the water edge. Luckily we witnessed a captivating sunset. The blurriness is due to the amount of steam on my camera due to the incredible humidity!
