Photo: A sunset over Kathmandu in Nepal

Nepal is a glorious country, and one that needs to be visited to be understood. I only stayed a week for work, but the hospitality and generosity from the locals and colleagues was staggering. On one evening, I went up a very famous tower in central Kathmandu and was lucky to see the capital in nice light. Hope this picture pushed you to visit the country!

I was strolling along the market main avenue, and I spotted a kid, amidst the cool temperatures of the morning, wrapped in a massive blanket in order to keep warm. The contrast between the colourful blanket, the slightly apprehensive yet curious face, and the crate dump in the background give this picture a really nice feel!

Photo: Kids in the rain in Kenya

Took this picture while waiting for a rainshower to stop!

Wondering around the area of Kitale in Western Kenya, we came across a school lunch hour when we were actually doing some field work. The kids came out in droves and ducked for shelter during a heavy rain spell. We were in our vehicle and the rain just kept falling… Hope you like the picture. Over the course of the two days, we saw 1500 farmers and gave out vital information about a particularly nasty disease in Kenya on maize: Maize Lethal Necrosis Disease (sounds bad as well!)

Photo: how interesting is a passion fruit flower

This flower was the only one out in the greenhouse in Kenya. The passion fruit crop had not done well that year, and farmers were beginning to get worried. As a fairly lucrative market, many farmers depend upon their passion fruit crop for their financial means during the year. In this greenhouse, the crop had not done well. We gave the farmer some advice on how to improve next year, so that each plant can be as healthy as the one with this flower!
