Photo: Orange is the new Black

Whilst visiting the work that the Government of Punjab is doing in Bahawalpur district, we went to a fruit and vegetables market in Bahawalpur main bazaar. This trader was located in front of the gates, in front of the banner explaining what our initiative was trying to achieve! He was very loud and friendly and insisted that we buy some of his fruit. I could not resist! They tasted good as well. People in Asia put orange henna dye in their hair for various reasons. One of them is tell the world that they have made a pilgrimage to Mecca, the holiest site in Muslim beliefs.

Photo: a full moon in a game reserve in Kenya

At a workshop in Naivasha, next to Nakuru game reserve in central Kenya, we visited a small nature reserve near a lodge. Luckily we spotted a few animals before the sun set, and then we walked through the park at night. It was a beautiful evening with eerie moonshine. Realkly recommend going through that part of Kenya though. Slightly less touristy than the major game reserves in East Africa.

Luckily we spotted a few animals before it got dark, and then we walked through the park at night. It was a beautiful evening with eerie moonshine, almost as nice as seeing the wild (ish) animals. A memorable moment. Really recommend going through that part of Kenya. Slightly less touristy than the major game reserves in East Africa.

photo: fire poi in Morocco

fire poi; morocco; Marrakesh; wedding;

In a beautiful wedding in Morocco, the ceremony was a cultural experience, the food was delightful, and the night entertainment was awesome, as you can see from this picture. This man was giving us a real show! He was extremely precise yet pulled off some incredibly daring moves! Hope you like the picture

Photo: The UK also has some beautiful colours!

Going for a lovely walk on an autumn day in Berkshire. We came across a tiny little reservoir in the middle of the forest. The picture, colours, and beauty speak for themselves! All of this taken with a 2 mega pixel camera!

Photo: my host family in Province Orientale, Northern DRC

My adoptive family in Northern DRC during a training

When I went to Province Orientale in Northern DRC, near the Sudanese border, I stayed in a very remote village that took about 12 hours to get to on a small motorbike. I was a bit apprehensive because I was not sure what I was going to find there once we arrived. My hut was clean and well looked after, and one of the families in the village looked after me. They gave me food and washed my clothes. There were adorable and I hope this picture does them justice. I think about them every now and again, and hope they are doing well. Hopefully I will see them soon! That area of DRC has a lot of problems with Cassava Mosaic virus and Banana bacterial wilt. however they have an amazing quantity of food due to the tropical conditions in the region. It rains 10 months of the year and avocado the size of watermelons grow everywhere, they feed peanuts (usually a cash crop) to the pigs and the chickens are very tasty (which I find unusual in East Africa)
